Designed by the architect Michael Blackstock in the early 1960s, The Modern House sold this highly impressive house in 2015. The architect, a lecturer at Kingston, acquired the house as a shell and completed it for his own use.
The traditional layout of a house was inverted, with five bedrooms and three bathrooms on the ground and first floors, and the living accommodation on the second floor to maximise the natural light. The spaces are linked together by a spiral staircase.
