After showing us around his refurbished Victorian house in Dalston, set and spatial designer Robert Storey shares his house style.
How would you describe the interiors of your house?
The house retains a lot of its original features in a relatively stripped back or neutral understated palette while a mix of modern and vintage furniture bring vibrancy through materiality and colour.
If there was a fire and you could only save one thing, what would it be?
I would save the lamp that which I designed and my dad made for me before he passed away.
What was the last thing you bought for the house?
A sake and sushi stoneware set.
Where do you shop for your home?
Mostly online ; vntg.com, eBay.com, or I pick up things on my travels.
Top three coffee table books?

Olafur Eliasson: Experience
Chanati: The Vision of Donald Judd
If money was no object, what changes would you make?
I would buy my neighbours’ garden so I could have chickens and a vegetable patch.
Less is more or more is more?
Less is more. I like rotating key pieces at home by taking a few selected objects out of storage at a time to keep things fresh.
Design classics or contemporary pieces?
I don’t think you can have one without the other. Design classics of today, and yesterday.
If you’re having people over for dinner, what do you cook?
I’m not much of a cook, I love to host snack dinners with friends so we eat crudités, olives, cheeses and wine! Less fuss more fun.
What are the best things about the neighbourhood?
Proximity to great local restaurants and bars whist remaining incredibly quiet.
