Jochen was born in Germany, where he studied scientific glassmaking in the 1990s. Later, he came to Britain to study, first at the Edinburgh College of Art then the Royal College of Art in London, and developed a style that has become his signature: distinctive glass forms coloured in bright, optimistic hues. But for all the levity imbued in the end result, to watch Jochen at work is to see someone masterfully in control of their material.
